dysarthria/seizure after 20cc .25% bupivacaine, 10cc exparel injected at L5 TP despite negative aspiration, good spread visualized on ultrasound. Symptoms noted prior to contralateral site, block aborted and given 2mg midazolam, 250cc intralipid. All symptoms resolved w/in 15 minutes, no respiratory or hemodynamic compromise.
