Ask Us > lipid rescue for ropivicaine toxicity: any results on brachial plexus toxicity?
I had a clavicular open reduction internal fixation. A week after surgery, I still have ulnar nerve numbness apparently caused by toxicity from ropivicaine.
I'm sorry, but lipid is really only intended for acute, systemic local anesthetic toxicity. Moreover, while it is impossible to state with certainly lacking more information, persistent symptoms of nerve damage following an operation in that region are far more likely the result of the surgery (positioning, pressure, stretch, distracting, retracting, etc) than the anesthetic. I certainly hope your symptoms recede and that you're all better soon.
Is lipid rescue an option?
