Hi A, I'm not sure what you mean. Obviously, the patient will have an iv, typically some crystalloid solution flowing through a giving set into an intravenous cannula. The lipid emulsion is drawn and administered adhering to all standard precautions to maintain sterility. this applies to both the bolus and infusion doses. Can you clarify your question? what is your concern exactly? G
Do you routinely place a sterile intravenous catheter to administer intralipids? Do you provide any special catheter care for repeated doses.
