Post Your Cases > LAST after inj. 0.5% Bupivacaine in Supraclavicular block.
Back in 2013, during my residency in anesthesia, I encountered a petient who had difficult speech, followed by loss of consciousness. He was a big built person, tall and obese. It took him 15 minutes post the block to develop LAST. We immediately took over the airway, with Bains and monitor his breathing, which had to be assisted and then total loss of respiration. He was given general anesthesia with Inj. Propofol with loading dose, and intubation. We did not administer muscle relaxant, and we waited for return of breathing and consciousness.
