Post Your Cases > Risk and incidence of pancreatitis after lipid infusion
Please post any experience with regard to pancreatitis in these cases. If amylase is followed, how soon after the end of infusion should it be drawn and how often should it be repeated?
thanks, Anu, for a good question. So far, thankfully, no reports of elevated amylase post LipidRescue. however, i think it sensible to screen for pancreatitis and to contemplate that possibility in anyone who has abdominal complaints after receiving a large lipid bolus. I'd be interested to hear if anyone who has written a report has seen major GI problems or elevated amylases in such patients.
