During Interscalene block in pre op, patient reported numbness over all of her body lost consciousness, and began seizing. 20 ml of Marcaine 0.5% had been given. Ventilation with 100% O2, Versed 2 mg IV, push 50 ml of 20% lipids followed by 450 ml lipid rapid IV infusion. Patient regain consciousness after 2 hours and was hospitalized for 24 hours. MRI was negative. Still having headache relieved by Vicodin.
